Will Smith gets a standing ovation following the BET Awards performance of his new single debut

The Academy Award-winning actor and 4-time Grammy-winning recording artist took the stage at the legendary awards show in Los Angeles on Sunday, delivering a moving performance of “You Can Make It” alongside Fridayy and Kanye West‘s Sunday Service Choir.

Following an emotional introduction by Taraji P. Henson, who affectionately referred to Smith as her “brother,” Smith was ushered to the stage. The performance was electrifying; it received cheers and a standing ovation from the audience.

The song, released on Friday, features Haitian-American singer and songwriter Fridayy and Sunday Service Choir. It is part of Smith’s upcoming fifth studio album, titled “Dance in Your Darkest Moments.”

The 2024 BET Awards ceremony honors individuals who have made significant contributions to Black culture, including musicians, writers, filmmakers, philanthropists, and more.
